The Alaska salmon fishery has won awards across the board for stewardship of this precious domestic food resource.
Sustainability is the linchpin of “green” resource management, and is increasingly important to people in their food choices.

Alaska salmon have been designated a TOP TEN “SUPER GREEN” food by the influential Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program.
A “SUPER GREEN” food is one which is exceptionally good for human health AND is a healthy natural resource. SUPER-GREEN foods must have low contamination, be rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and are on the Seafood Watch’s Best Choices — Alaska salmon easily meets all three criteria.
